ENVIRONMENT

At Casall we constantly work to ensure we comply with all applicable environmental regulations and requirements. Our products contain no hazardous chemical substances and are not dangerous for the environment or humans.

Laws and regulations

European REACH regulation

The European REACH regulation was adopted to improve the protection of human health and the environment from the risks that can be posed by chemicals. REACH applies mainly to chemical products and chemicals, but in principle it applies to all chemical substances; not only those used in industrial processes but also in our day-to-day lives, as articles such as e.g. clothes, furniture and electrical appliances also consist of chemical substances. REACH is based on the principle that companies (e.g manufacturers or importers) are responsible for the substances, that they manufacture, place on the market or use, and ensuring that they do not cause harmful effects on human health or the environment.

RoHS

The Directive on the Restriction of the use of certain Hazardous Substances in electrical and electronic equipment restricts (with exceptions) the use of six hazardous substances in the manufacture of various types of electronic and electrical equipment.

POPs

The POPs Regulation bans or restricts the use of persistent organic pollutants in both chemical products and articles. The POPs substances have particularly serious health and environmental properties, being persistent and non-biodegradable.

Biocidal product regulation

The Biocidal Products Regulation concerns the placing on the market and use of biocidal products, which are used to protect humans, animals, materials or articles against harmful organisms like pests or bacteria, by the action of the active substances contained in the biocidal product. The regulation aims to improve the functioning of the biocidal products market in the EU, while ensuring a high level of protection for humans and the environment.

Our products are marked with below symbols so you easily can track what products we have taken extra attention to - making them even more kind to the environment around it.

CASALL SYMBOLS

PVC- Free

pvc.jpg

PVC is a very flexible and durable material, but is controversial due to potential negative impacts on human health and the environment, because of additives e.g. plasticizers added under production; and when becoming waste. We strive to extend our range of PVC-free products in the near future.

6P-Free

sixf.jpg

Our 6P-free products do not contain any of the 6 most harmful phthalates (DEHP, DBP, BBP, DINP, DIDP, DNOP). Instead Casall uses well-functioning alternatives like phthalates with a low order of toxicity, or phthalate-free plasticizers e.g. citrates.

BPA-Free

bpa.jpg

Our water bottles do not contain BPA, or Bisphenol A, which it is actually called. BPA can be endocrine disrupters, for example, it can cause reduced fertility.

Conscious Choice

CC-Typo_ORIGINAL_.png

Our symbol CONSCIOUS CHOICE makes it easier for you to find the range of Casall products that are extra cared for. It guarantees that Casall and our suppliers have made active choices to produce and make the product more environmentally friendly. It has to fulfil criterias such as being produced of recycled materials, use of non-harmful additives and/or that the production process is energy, water and/or waste effective.

By always caring for your products you can extend their average lifetime. We offer you some ideas on how to take extra good care of your Casall products.

Functional material should not be washed with softener since it reduces both its elasticity and ability to transport moisture.

Have in mind

Washing too hot, strong centrifuge and tumble-drying can damage details in the garment. Think twice before washing and try airing your clothes. Sometimes hanging your sportswear to air outside can be enough to refresh.

Care Instructions - TOOL

Exercise equipment

Always use a mild soap solution for cleaning, no harsh chemicals. Avoid storing your exercise machine in direct sunlight or in hot, humid, dusty or dirty environments.

Treadmill

Lubricate with silicone oil under the carpet a few times a year. Vacuum the engine room on a regular basis.

Work out gloves in leather

Use a damp cloth to wipe away any stains. When cleaned the leather needs to be moisturized with leather grease, apply it with a dry and clean cloth and leave overnight. Wipe off excess grease with a lint free cloth.

Yoga/Gym mat

Hand wash in lukewarm water with a mild soap solution and a lint free cloth. Hang the mat to dry freely.

Reuse and recycle
