Amy Rudbäck

Yoga teacher and creative consultant Stockholm

I was born in a bathtub and my name is Amy. I grew up in Dubai and Gothenburg and now you find me in Stockholm where I work as a freelance consultant and yoga teacher.

What drives you? What does ‘making a difference’ mean to you?

New experiences! By constantly pushing myself to try new things and meet new people I continue to learn and stay curious, which I also, when teaching, want to inspire my students to do too.

Tell us a story from your past that has really shaped you. What did you learn?

When I quit my job at a brand experience agency and started consulting while taking a 200 hour yoga teacher training. Going from security with a monthly salary to not knowing when I’ll get money or a job again was very scary but oh so exciting. My big lesson is that I have to believe in myself and that things will sort out. And so far so good!

If you could travel back in time… what piece of advice would to give to yourself ten years ago?

Do what makes you happy and remember that you can always change your mind. Very few decisions in life are final. And not to forget: all experiences are good experiences!

What does your morning routine look like? How do you maintain balance in your life? What bio or life hack would you like to share with the world?

Now with a 3-week-old baby every morning is different, except one thing: my partner always makes me a green smoothie, which I drink after stepping out of bed to nourish my body. When I have more of a routine with my daughter I will get back to meditating or moving on the mat to awaken my body before breakfast. I maintain balance by not filling my calendar and giving myself space to just be and not always do. My life hack: whenever I feel stressed or overwhelmed I just take a minute and focus on my breath. It brings my awareness from my head into my body and releases unnecessary stress. You should try!

When are you most happy? Where is your happy place?

When I can spend time in nature with my family.

What’s your favorite type of training? Why is training important for you and your career?

Yoga (surprise!), dancing and walking or running in the forest. Training is important for me because it makes me happy! It’s as simple as that. And that’s something I want more people to experience: the happiness of yoga.

What’s next? What are your ambitions for the future?

To keep on developing as a yoga student and teacher. To take on more classes and start my own business within yoga/mindfulness.
